Milestone-12 wks

We did end up going north for Thanksgiving, but we didn't do as much shopping the next day as I would have hoped. The ride up there was during a blizzard so that made a 3 hour trip turn into a 5. This was also due to the fact that per the doc's request, I had to get out and walk for 10 minutes after riding for 45. Good times.

We did get a bout of bad news the day before Thanksgiving, Aaron got laid off. So it's searching into the job market he goes. This is going to make for a VERY light holiday. We put up the Christmas tree and the spirit isn't broken yet, it's just hard to shop for people when you have a next-to-nothing budget.

My spirit is high right now, knowing that today marks 12 wks for me, I'm finishing my first trimester and that's something I never imagined would be here. I have a book that tells me exactly what is happening everyday with the baby and Aaron and my routine every night is winding down on the couch and I read to him what is happening everyday. Of course, he's just waiting for me to read the part where it says "your baby's gender can now be detected by an ultrasound..." :) We both just want healthy, but it will be so much fun to pick out our baby's first gender-specific outfit or toy.

The doc says 20 weeks, so about 2 more months to go! And about 2 more weeks until I get to stop taking these extra progesterone supplements! Woohoo, grow baby, grow!

I am so sorry to hear about Aaron. I hate when companies do this at this time of the year. My old office closed their doors the week before Thanksgiving.

I am happy to hear your preganancy is going along uneventfully. It must be so exciting to read about what's going on inside of you!

Aaron's company sure has crappy timing. But I'm sure everthing will work out for the best. Think about it this way. You've already been given the best gift of all. I'm very happy that your pregnancy is going along well. :)

I'm so sorry to hear about Aaron's layoff. Hopefully something better will come along quickly. As for the holidays...I hate that Christmas has become all about gifts. It's more important to have the "gifts" of family, friends, and health (and a healthy baby!). I'm sure your friends & family understand your circumstances. Maybe you can make Christmas gifts this year...like some nice homemade bread or muffins and wrap them in nice packaging.
