Youth

The grass is always greener for me when it comes to my hair. Long hair has s@x appeal and short hair is flirty and fun. Therefore I always make my next hair/color appointment with the hopes that IT WILL CHANGE MY LIFE! I'LL FINALLY BE HAPPY!
I couldn't have written anything more untrue.

I just came back from Dazed's place and I saw what her hair was going to look like and thought, I wonder if I could pull that look off, or maybe I won't cut mine, and I'll just mimic the color. And then I started searching online for other colors and...
I just hung up from making my appointment.

When I was in high school, I would wake up every morning and put my hair in rollers. EVERY.MORNING. It didn't matter that I'm not a morning person and getting up that early meant running the risk that I would throw up, since I was typically nauseaus everyday. (Something about getting up without a certain amount of sleep makes me very sick, don't ask.)I made sure my hair was bouncy and curly before I stepped foot out of the house.

Now, I'll be lucky if I have the time to throw it in a polished ponytail. My hair, it's so neglected.

I was the same way in high school. Now I hop in the shower, comb it out and call it good. Ok, most days it's not that bad, but I just don't care as much any more. I love the color of Daze's hair, and actually have virtually the same cut only longer. If I ever have the money for color again, I'll go lighter.

I used to spend an hour on hair and another 30 minutes on makeup in high school. How I did that is still unclear to me, but there you have it - LOL.

Call me crazy...but I get up and put my hair in hot rollers almost every morning! =) I must be making up for high school when I had swim team before AND after school and never had a good hair day for four years!

I'll see pictures of a haircut that it soooo cute. I used to bring those pictures into the salon but always left with something MUCH different than I hoped for. I realized it makes a huge difference what TYPE of hair you have. I have medium-thickness, somewhat wavy hair...so I can't pull off cuts that look terrific on thin, straight hair. I'm the same way with the long/short thing though. I've had both, but it seems I want short when I have long and vice-versa...I guess I could do like Paris and wear a wig. :)

I'm totally jealous of Dazed's hair. Mine could never look like that.

My poor hair is just as neglected as yours- it's always pulled back, in a bun, or under a hat.
