Truly Independent

Sometimes I write things that happen in my life with a bit of a funny spin, sometimes I write about my struggles and hardships in my weight loss journey, and sometimes I just unload everything in my head here, not caring whether any of it makes sense, I just need to get it out.

Today is a day like that.

This weekend was so much fun, I haven't had that much fun in a looong time. Anytime you are too sunburned to move, you know it was a good weekend.

Friday as you recall, I was a grump. So I decided to rope Aaron into helping me and we deep cleaned the house. I mean I bleached the heck out of my house, from the walls to the floors. Every nook and cranny was cleaned. Ahhh, nothing better than having a clean house. Nothing.

That night we went with some friends to watch some fireworks and went out to dinner. Mmmm, I can still taste the garlic on the pizza. Saturday we took one of our friends out on the boat. He went tubing. Didn't last long as the water was rough. That night we went to the park where we met and watched the fireworks. That was fun, brought back a bunch of emotions for me. Then we got back to the house and met some friends and had a bonfire, we roasted s'mores and drank wine by the fire and crashed into bed.

Sunday, which was supposed to be the worst weather day of the three, and was, was by far the best day. My lovely Aaron likes to pretend he's a meteorologist when it's stormy out, and this day proved to be the same. As we are dropping our boat into the lake, the dark clouds roll in. There were 6 of us. 3 women and 3 men. Guess which 3 thought the clouds were going "around" us. They didn't. Just as we get to the middle of the lake, it starts pouring. Like Mother Nature was laughing at us and throwing rocks at us. It was raining THAT hard. We head back in. All soaking wet, we get to the dock and the rain stops. We were already wet so we go back out on the water and the sun shined for the next 3 hours while we got sunburned and had a blast on the water. Went to dinner that night, then to some more fireworks.

Monday we entertained some more guests out on the boat and drank up some more sunshine. Couldn't have asked for a better time.

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. It was much needed by me. Now if I could just get a vacation after my vacation....

At least my house is clean! ;)

You are absolutely correct about a clean house, nothing better! All that boating and fun in the sun sounds exhausting, I bet you slept well last night!!!
