Give us this day

I promised you a whirlwind of a weekend and I do not disappoint.

Friday Aaron won his softball game!! Woohoo!

Then I got a call saying my good friend's Dad died that morning. Reality check. He got sick so quickly, but now he's in a better place and not suffering anymore so I have to believe this is better. We will be going to the viewing tonight and I will see if I can go to the funeral tomorrow. I just sent flowers to the funeral home...which leads me to another topic. Why are flowers so expensive?? $80 on a sympathy basket. *sigh*, but I digress.

Saturday was Aaron's graduation. Congrats babe! I'm so proud of you! Then we went to dinner and waited an hour to be seated. The bad thing was that nobody even asked us if we wanted anything while we waited! When we were finally seated we told the manager and got free appetizers and a round of drinks on the house. Which is good to know that they took care of us because this is where my rehearsal dinner is going to be held. Good save there.

Sunday my sister and I planted and worked in the yard all day while Aaron went somewhere with my dad. I have to say, I am so sore today but it's also amazing what a little mulch can do for the appearance of a yard. I'll post pictures tomorrow because I'm also excited to say, my corn is growing!! I do have a green thumb in my body after all!!!! We'll just see if the old saying is true, "Knee high by the fourth of July." I think we'll have enough sweet corn for our entire county! I'm relaxed, and ready to start the week, at least for the moment...

Happy Monday!!

Congrats to Aaron on his graduation. I wish I had a green thumb -- it's just not in me. Plus, anything I would plant would get eaten by the dogs, so it's silly to waste money on really pretty plants.
